Ewww! Germs!

I'm not really even sure what I want to blog about to be honest ... I just decided that I wanted to. I have millions of thoughts that race around in my head, I just can't seem to put them in words sometimes.

Not long ago on Facebook I posted a status about how I don't like opening doors myself anymore. And before you think I'm just being bitchy, let me explain. This mostly started when the whole Swine Flu (H1N1) was going around & I was just too paranoid to open doors. If I had to, I would use hand sanitizer right afterward if possible. I mean really, what kind of germs are on the things we touch? I mean somehow & somewhere Landan picked up a germ & it killed him. Ugh. I don't even like to go to any indoor children's places anymore like Chuck E Cheese. Nothing against the establishment personally but lets be honest ... Kids are germy ... ADULTS are germy!

I'll spare you my standing on a soap box for vaccine advocation. Consider yourself lucky!

The slacker is feelin' crafy!

Well I've officially failed my self implemented '90 Day Blogging Challenge'. BUT I have been blogging more & that is a plus! So I'm rollin' with it.

I've been super crafty recently! My hubby & boys bought me a sewing machine for my birthday in March & I've just recently decided to put my big girl pants on & take the plunge into sewing. Not that I don't know how to sew ... My mom has sewn all my life & I took two years of clothing construction in High School! But of course my husband had his doubts, even though he won't admit that his banter was no more than a little joking, I didn't buy it. So I've been able to prove him wrong! Yay! I made Layne his first pair of pj pants and while they were a TAD on the smaller size they turned out great! I have two more pairs that just need some finishing touches & they are ready to go! I also recently (as in today) did some applique work on some shirts! Yay! It was alot easier than I thought they would be. Of course it was just a simple tie & not as complex as it could be I'm ready to try something more challenging next time!

About My Family

Andy & I have been together since late 2004. We got engaged in 2005 & married 10/21/06! We actually met on MySpace! (Yes I'm one of THOSE stories) He sent me a message asking if I'd like to talk online sometime, he sent the same message to like 2 other girls, lucky for him - I'm the only one that responded! lol Guess it was meant to me :)

(8/17/03 - 11/16/06) My sweet angel boy. We miss him terribly. Landan passed away at the age of 3yrs from Meningococcal Meningitis. He fought hard for 23hrs in the hospital & his heart of gold stopped beating. He went peacefully Home to God.

Losing Landan was the original purpose for me starting this blog. I wanted a place to vent & sharing the grieving process with. I didn't blog much over the first year, but have been recently more into blogging.

Layne is Andy & I's first child together. We were very shocked finding out we were pregnant in March 08'. When we realized our due date was in November, we knew Landan helped pick that time for his little brother to come. His due date was November 26th. When my water broke on October 31st, a friend reminded me that November 1st was All Saints Day! We again felt Landan helped pick that special day because All Saints Day is when it's said our loved ones come down to earth. Being born 3weeks early, Layne had some fluid in his lungs. He spent a week in the NICU then we were able to bring him home.
